13/09/2014:  Kildysart narrowly lost out on a place in the Intermediate Championship final by a single point-losing to Wolfetones 9 points to 2-4. The opening twenty minutes were controlled by Wolfe Tones and the score at this stage was 1-02 to 0-02 with both of our points by G. Kelly. Kildysart had two great goal chances around the twenty five minute mark by G. Kelly and Nellie O’Connor. However they were denied by the goalie who made two great saves. The half time score was Wolfetones 1-03 to Kildysart 0-05.

We started the second half without the services of our key forward Ger Kelly due to a hamstring injury. We had a point from a free by Kieran Eyres and we appeared to be in control however a sweeping move by Wolfe Tones resulted in a goal. We were temporarily set back but we then scored three unanswered points to put us level at 0-09 to 2-03 heading into the last Quarter. Our efforts to regain the lead did not happen and a point by Wolfe Tones on the 53rd minute ended our chance of reaching the final.

The loss of Ger Kelly and the exertion of playing Kilmihil took its toll. Wolfe Tone went on to win the Final against Corofin in a replay. I wish to thank Kieran Mc Namara and his team for their dedication and time over the season. Report by Noel McMahon
