10/04/2013:  Kildysart lost out to Doonbeg by 2 points in a closely fought battle to the end under wet conditions this evening.  Captain Rory McMahon got Kildysart on the scoreboard in the opening minute but Doonbeg responded with 1-3 unanswered up to the 10th minute.  Ryan Casey's point and Barry Crehan's free brought Kildysart back to within a goal, but Doonbeg ploughed on and scored 2 goals in quick succession.  The sides exchanged points before Rory McMahon blasted a penalty to the back of the net to leave 2 goals between the sides 1-4 to 3-4 at half time.

Kildysart started strong when Stephen Sheehan's free from about the 40' bounced in for a goal in the opening minute of the restart.  Two minutes later Rory goaled again to have the sides level for the first time.  Doonbeg then went ahead with 3 unanswered points.  Seamus Casey's free and Barry's point narrowed the gap to 1 point but that was the closest Kildysart would come for the rest of the match.  Both teams fought hard for scores and Doonbeg scored twice more leaving the evasive goal between the sides. Seamus Casey's free reduced the gap to 2 but Kildysart couldn't find the space for the much wanted goal.  Final score Doonbeg 3-9 to Kildysart 3-7.
