12/06/2015:  The Kildysart U14 Ladies team has qualified for the Division D Cup semi-final for 2015 in their first year in this competition.  Tonight they played excellent football giving the undefeated Shannon Gaels their closest match all season.  As it happens they must face the Gaels again in the Cup semi-final next week. The Gaels were first on the board tonight with a point in the opening minute but Caitlin Casey surprised the Gaels with a quick shot to the net.  The Gaels stormed ahead with an unanswered 2-1 to give them the lead 2-1 to a goal mid way through the half.  Two points from Roisin Donnellan and 1 from Katie Donnellan and then one from the Gaels left just a goal between them at the break: Shannon Gaels 2-3, Kildysart 1-3.

The Gaels again went on the offensive with 2 goals in as many minutes at the restart to give them the momentum.  That changed however when Caitlin Casey earned a penalty in front of the goals.  This was converted by Roisin Donnellan to leave just 2 goals between them with just 5 minutes gone.  Kildysart kept the pressure on and the back were relentless giving Kildysart most of the possession from here on in.  Points from Katie and Roisin Donnellan and 1 from Amy Murphy put just a goal between them at the turn of the last quarter - Kildysart 2-6, Shannon Gaels 4-3.  The girls fought hard and denied the Gaels the opportunity to score for large periods of time but were unable to capitalise on their possession.  The Gaels scored another goal in the dying minutes to win 5-2 to 2-6.  The girls have qualified for the Cup semi-final and must meet the Gaels again next week.  Kildysart GAA wishes Bianca Tully a quick recovery from her knee injury.  Best for Kildysart: Kyla Foley, Sinead Kelly, Hannah Mikhael and Clara O'Grady, Amy Murphy.

Team: Zoe Nagle, Sarah Casey, Clara O'Grady, Emma Byrne, Sinead Kelly, Niamh Moloney, Kyla Foley-captain, Roisin Donnellan (1-3, 1 penalty, 2f), Hannah Mikhael, Katie Donnellan (0-2), Grace Sheerer, Amy Murphy (0-1), Caitlin Casey (1-0).  Subs: Aoife McMahon, Emily Leahy, Aoife Cleary, Megan Cooney, Jade McNamara, Rachel O'Sullivan.
