09/09/2015:  The Kildysart Ladies U12's had a super win this evening beating neighbours Shannon Gaels 5-5 to 0-3 in a match which saw every girl get valuable game time. The girls kept the Gaels scoreless in the first half while notching up 5-4 themselves.  Grace Sheerer led the brigade and was very influential setting up scores and had 1-1 to her credit within 5 minutes.  Emma Byrne and Aoife McMahon were in control of mid field and kept the ball moving up to the forwards.  Captain Aoife Cleary got an assist when she fed the ball to Alaina Casey who promptly put it over the bar.  Emily Leahy was responsible for feeding the ball to Caitlin Casey who raised the green flag twice in succession to give the Blues the lead 3-1 to no score with about 10 minutes gone.  The team then made some positional switches which saw Aoibhinn Clancy, Abbey Hehir and Eabha Garry take over in the forwards and they gave a great display. The half backline of Emma Garry, Aisling O'Connor and led by Sarah Casey were put under pressure at times but managed to keep most of the ball cleared.  The dependable full back line of Rachel O'Sullivan and Clara O'Grady were outpacing their opponents, scooping up ball and sending it out the wings.  Together the backs kept the Gaels scoreless in the first half. Goalie Niamh Moloney was called upon a few times but managed to keep a clean sheet for the entire match.  The on-fire Grace Sheerer continued her attack and banged 2 more to the net to put Kildysart ahead 5-4 to no score at the halftime break.

The second half saw impact subs Grace Scanlon, Aoife Ginnane, Katie Casey and Jade McNamara take up positions up and down the pitch.  They all played really well and kept up the strong attacking and defending.  By this time the Gaels had settled a bit into the game and put 3 scores on the board.  Clara O'Grady slotted over a great point which turned out to be the last point of the game.

This big win follows on from Saturday's fine display when the Ladies beat Doora Barefield by score of 4-5 to 1-6.  They were very unlucky in their first match to lose to Wolfetones 1-6 to 1-3 in very wintery conditions.  Their next match is away to Kilrush and their final match is home to Crusheen.

Team: Niamh Moloney, Rachel O'Sullivan, Clara O'Grady (0-1), Emma Garry, Sarah Casey, Aisling O'Connor, Emma Byrne, Aoife McMahon, Aoife Cleary-captain, Grace Sheerer (3-3), Emily Leahy, Alaina Casey (0-1), Caitlin Casey (2-0).  Subs: Aoibhinn Clancy, Abbey Hehir, Eabha Garry, Grace Scanlon, Aoife Ginnane, Katie Casey and Jade McNamara.
