Kildysart Victory Over Coolmeen

06/04/012:  Kildysart Intermediate team beat neighbours Coolmeen in their first pairing since Coolmeen was promoted to Intermediate League.  Ger Kelly scored the first point from play 3 minutes in and followed that up with a free.  Coolmeen scored their first point of the match with a free and then Damien Murtagh countered with a free for Kildysart.  Coolmeen scored 2 more frees and drew level about 15 minutes in for the first and last time in the match. Ger Kelly scored 2 more frees and then Keith (The Bomber) Murphy punched a long ball in from mid field to the back of the net.  Ger Kelly scored 2 more points, Coolmeen got their first point from play and Niall Ginnane finished off the half with a point to leave Kildysart ahead at the half 01 08 to 04 points.

Coolmeen were put under pressure at the start of the second half as Pa McMahon denied Keith O'Connor and Alan Ralph goal chances within the first two minutes. Ger Kelly put the first point on the board in the second half but Coolmeen rallied and scored 5 unanswered points to put Coolmeen within a goal.  It was 20 minutes in until Ger Kelly fisted 1 over the bar, followed by points from Brian O'Sullivan and Neilie O'Connor.  Shane McNeilus was key in the backs that put a stop to Coolmeen's drive and John Clancy worked tirelessly in mid field all game. Coolmeen added the last point for a final score of Kildysart 01 12 - Coolmeen 10 points.  It was a physical game with both sides getting 2 yellows and 1 straight red card each.
