Kildysart U16's Start With a Win

23/03/2014:  Kildysart U16's started their Division 3 campaign with a home win over Naomh Eoin 1-11 to 2-4.  Kildysart dominated the play and accumulated 1-6 to no score before Naomh Eoin got on the scoreboard with a free with 5 minutes remaining in the first half.  Seamus Casey opened the account for the blues and this was followed by points from Aaron Slobody (x2) and Kieran O'Brien.  Barry Crehan converted a penalty after Aaron Slobody was brought down in the square to give Kildysart the lead 1-4 to no score.  Kieran O'Brien added 3 more scores and Naomh Eoin got their lone point of the half.  Half time was Kildysart 1-7, Naomh Eoin 1 point.
Kildysart continued their comfortable lead in the second half but Naomh Eoin had heart and kept fighting to the end.  With 6 minutes remaining, Kildysart were leading 1-11 to 3 points, when Naomh Eoin struck an unanswered 2-1 to bring them within 2 scores of drawing level. Kildysart defended well to preserve their lead and finished with 4 points to spare.  Final score Kildysart 1-11 to Naomh Eoin 2-4.  Kildysart GAA Club wishes Darragh Watson a speedy recovery from his hand injury.  Fair play to Kildysart's Darren Crehan who donned the red jersey and played well for Naomh Eoin.
