19/03/2016:  Kildysart/Coolmeen U16's got their 2016 championship off to a good start with a win over Clarecastle 1-8 to 3 points in a bright and sunny Coolmeen. This match came after last week's match v Wolfetones had to be abandoned after 20 minutes due to a Wolfetones injury.  Clarecastle were first on the scoreboard with a point from play in the 4th minute.  Kildysart/Coolmeen then took the lead and never looked back as the mid field duo of Diarmuid O'Donnell and Seamus Casey dominated the field and put 5 points on the board between them. Patrick O'Connell was dogged at wing back and continued to cause trouble for the Magpies with his runs forward. Barry McMahon rounded off the half and gave the amalgamation a 6 points to 1 lead at the break.

Clarecastle started the second half with a point but the wind was taken from their sails when JJ Carrig's shot found the corner of the net in the 3rd minute of the restart. Clarecastle battled on and kept themselves in the game with another point heading into the last quarter.  However 2 more points from Casey & O'Donnell finished off the match and gave Kildysart/Coolmeen the win 1-8 to 3 points.
