Kil/Cool U16's Headed to Final

Cùil Mìn / Kildysart defeated Lissycasey in the U – 16 B Championship semi-final on a score of 2 – 08 to 1 – 10. This was a brilliant game of football between two evenly matched sides. Lissycasey started brightly with a penalty goal in the opening minutes. Cùil Mìn / Kildysart responded with some excellent play and created scoring chances which Ben Cleary converted. After a great passing movement Barry Crehan goaled to leave half-time score 1 – 05 to 1 – 04 in favour of Lissycasey. The second half continued in the same manner with play flowing from one end of the field to the other. The crucial score came when Cùil Mìn / Kildysart were awarded a penalty which Rory McMahon calmly dispatched to the net. Lissycasey levelled the game with a point to set up a grandstand finish. The excitement was at fever pitch when Ben Cleary kicked the winning point deep into injury time. The Cùil Mìn / Kildysart defence held firm to seal a famous victory. Full credit to both teams for providing a contest of the highest skill, effort and excitement. Calling on all supporters and patrons of Cùil Mìn and Kildysart GAA to support this fantastic group of players in the upcoming final.
