Intermediates Top the Table

19/05/2012:  Kildysart had decisive win over Corofin and gained in the points difference by score of 02 12 to 01 07.  The visitors put up the first score but it would take another 15 minutes for them to register another.  John Clancy quickly put the sides level and this was followed by a point from Keith Murphy. Damian Murtagh added 2 frees to see the home side up 4 points to 1 at the end of the first quarter.  Corofin then scored a goal, which was nearly saved by goalie John Murtagh.  This was countered 2 minutes later when Damian Hill found the back of the net.  Corofin and Damian Murtagh added 2 points a piece to finish the half Kildysart 01 06 to 01 02.
 
Corofin were first on the scoreboard again in the second half but Damian Murtagh pointed a free a few minutes later.  Corofin pointed again and then Brian O'Sullivan scored 2 back to back points. In the 45th minute, Keith Murphy goaled leaving Kildysart up by 02 09 to 01 04 with 15 minutes remaining.  In the remaining time, Corofin added 3 more points and so did Kildysart - 1 from Neilie O'Connor and 2 from the boot of Niall Ginnane, to finish 02 12 to 01 07.

Kildysart's win puts them 1 point ahead (at 9 points) at the top of the table with 1 match remaining. Kilmurray Ibrikane and Kilmihil are joint 2nd (at 8 points) and Corofin is 3rd (7 points). The final fixtures are set for the weekend of June 16th/17th with Kildysart taking on Kilmurray Ibrikane at home while Kilmihil play Kilfenora (5 points) and Corofin play Meelick.  A win for Kildysart means we top the table but anything less will depend on how the remaining final day results play out.
